|"Sometimes, all you need is a little magic in life" :)|
I hope this new year gives people, new hope and courage to do everything they couldn't do the previous year.
I hope people find it in themselves to forgive the past and be kind to themselves for going through all the troubles.
I hope people smile more often and embrace love.
Here's to a Happy New Year 2019!
I think more people should talk about heartbreaks, and that it's okay to go through the pain. It's a part of life and eventually, you'll either find it more bearable or you'll find it empowering you. There is nowhere else you should probably end up in. Yes, the pain hurts but if you can do something about making things better, go for it. If not, I guess there aren't many alternatives to this whole thing. You just have to brace it.
"I wish things were back to normal. I wish we could all just stop and rewind. I wish we had another chance." How many times have we heard ourselves say these things over and over again?
The thing with us humans is that, we tend to look forward to evolution and changes that may or may not be good. Today we may be all excited about one particular festival or a gathering but in due course of time, we tend to loose interest in things. And as we all know, we are getting dumber by the day and there is no helping it. Right now, taking a selfie is the latest fad, later something more stupid may arise and we might actually start a cult of stupid things. Rational thinking and common sense might somed...
The silent tears!!
A few days ago, bored to death, I sat surfing the television for movies. Not being the prime time for movies, all the channels had some seriously boring movies running in them. Then I came across a channel that was playing "Billu" movie starring Irfan Khan, Lara Dutta and a cameo by Shahrukh Khan. The movie had reached almost the end, and as an avid movie lover, I sat down to watch the last few minutes of the movie. Irfan Khan portraying Billu was now being roughed up by the local cops for so called "Hustling" the town folk. Next day Shahrukh Khan playing the superstar that he is, was given an opportunity to speak at the town's only school. He narrated his journey from a p...
I dreamed a dream!!
How wonderful would it be, if we all lived in our fantasies, making merry all the time? Some would laugh at this thought but well, haven't you ever thought about it? Haven't you wondered, what if things would be different? Thinking about all these things doesn't depict that a person is neck deep in pain and misery, and fantasy is their only escape from reality. Who wouldn't want to live the life they dream of?
First of all, how well is our life defined? What does it take to be happy? Money? A big house? A good job? Lovely partners? If not these, then what? Some people who have all of these, strive to find peace in life and others, who don't have all these, keep cursing t...
Recently, I met a friend who's been in the same college for a few years now, but hadn't got the opportunity to get to know that person or rather, didn't know that person existed. We got along chatting for a while and realised, we are so much alike but the strange part is we hadn't met eachother till now. It got me thinking about a lot of things. Its like all the data in my brain just crashed for a sec due to overwhelming inputs.
I wonder how many fun people are there in the world, that we still haven't come across? We tend to take things a little lazily nowadays but we never know when we might come across people who bring that rush into your life. And the whole scenario can be re...
If you could time travel and meet yourself, what would you say? What would you ask? What would would you expect? What would your first reaction be? So many questions that one can ponder over for hours, isn't it?
It's strange how we make so many plans and prepare ourselves for the so called "future", whereas we don't actually know if we would be alive tomorrow.
Suppose we do time travel and meet our future self, would we learn from the mistakes and change the future? I don't know if its possible but according to all the goofy theories I've read, one small change or alteration in the time line would lead to a ripple effect changing the future or past as we know it.
So what does this tell ...
Some things are best left unsaid!!
Have you ever reacted so sudden, that you have no idea what words come out of your mouth? Have you ever wished, you had not said those things out loud or did those things which would someday haunt you? We all have been through such situations, haven't we?
Its strange how half the world says speak your mind out, and the rest says, don't reveal much. This contradiction puts us in a unique dilemma. I remember the old Shakespearean dialogue "To be, or not to be, that is the question." But with changing times, it should be rewritten as, "To speak, or not to speak, that is the question." Or "To do, or not to do, that is the question."
How strange and mysterious ...
The joy of giving!!
After many days, I visited a temple for the sake of my mom and what happened there changed the way I think.
Ever since I was a little kid, I used to hate going to temples because we had to stand in very long queues, congested rooms and for all the trouble we went through, the priest at the temple would be shouting at us move on from the inner sanctum of the temple so that others could offer their prayers. Being a small kid, I always had this conflict of people worshipping an idol who presumably had the powers to rule the world. The whole concept of god never sunk in and I used to bring out excuses to avoid going to the temple.
It's a known fact that my mom is not well an...
The loop of life!!
Have you ever thought about what you would be doing once you are old? Have you given any thought, as to what might the future be like?
I for one, am not sure if things will still be the same after so many years. Looking back on those many moments which touched our heart, would we still remember those joyous moments we spent with people close to us? Will we thank god for whatever has happened or regret that we had the opportunity but yet could not achieve our dreams? Does being sidelined by various factors in life change us? Is it thanks to the choices we make in life, change us completely beyond recognition? Would you rather be remembered as a person, who was focused and s...
Memories worth a lifetime!!
Bring back those days of joy, friendship and happiness. Bring back those laughter, those sorrows, those wonderful moments, those awkward situations, those scolding by teacher, those "a+" or "very good" , those game periods, those Christmas parties, those reunions, those movie time with friends, those new year celebrations, those first crushes, those first rejections, those first heartaches, those first fights, those first bike moments, those puppies, those hide and seek games, those mango memories, those music lessons, those swimming relays, those first outing with friends and family, those sleepless nights, those worthless queues, those sensible talks, those firs...
Stories from the heart!!
Just a random thought but do you have any memory from your childhood that you'd like to live again? Do you recall the first mango you ate? Do u remember the first cola you drank? Do you remember the first cycle you rode? Do you remember the first tree that you climbed? Do you remember the first teacher you had a crush on? Do you remember the first time you played a sport and loved it? Do you remember the first movie you saw with friends? Do you remember the first sand castle you built? Do you remember the first super hero you enacted to your parents? Do you remember the first ride on Appa's scooter or the first sweet dish your Amma made for you? All these memories are...
A droplet of wishes!!
We had a photo session in college and just as we were done, it started to rain. We, a group of 40 people, rushed to the newly renovated college canteen. We stood there for a while watching the rain pour down. After a short while people decided to play in the rain, so they ran out into the open, making merry. I sat there wondering what we would be doing, 5 years down the lane. Some of them plan to go abroad for higher studies, some plan to join a company. Some are yet to complete their course of studies. Forget 5 years down the lane, I don't even know what I'd be doing in a few weeks or even days.
I would like to know how the world would have changed in a few years thou...
Eye of the beholder!
Today morning, I was travelling from Mysuru to Bengaluru by the local train. In the first hour I was bored to death so I geared up my headphones and started reading a novel to kill time. As we stopped at the Mandya station, people started pouring in and it felt like a carnival of sorts. While I sat there listening to music, people around me were chatting, laughing and making merry. As the music was being played at a high volume, I couldn't hear them, but their animated expressions made me wonder what their life must be like. Two people were sitting in front of me (a guy and a girl) who were smiling at each other and making small talk. From my point of view, they looked li...
