Roaming the urban jungle
planning my escape
analysing every corner
treading lightly on the border
Reaching for the horizon
adopting the heart of a lion
closer to the sun
yet darkness surrounds me
Stepping on slippery stones
cautiously moving forward
terrified of falling
clenching onto the railing
refusing to conform
causing a storm
Through profound hunger
scorching desert draughts
my heart relentlessly fights
unconditional freedom ignites
In the darkest hour my
FREEDOM catches flight, my
helpless soul fades, forever
out of sight
Your message of freedom is an inspiration to everyone who feels they cannot express themselves. When a government constrains, rather than enables, the citizens that it is meant to support, then that government has lost sight of its purpose and will inevitably change. The process may be long and slow; but it will be carried out by the men and women who are brave enough to defy convention and fight for something new. Afshin Ghaffarian is one such man; and your move honors the great risks of his defiance.
Every individual human being is like a unique planet. We all have different atmospheres, and by nature, some of our atmospheres are thin with little air to breathe, some have torrential downpours... It's all part of nature. Perhaps with the human race, these types of planets are rarer in the homo sapien galaxy, with a majority being sunny with breathable atmospheres... Again, it's part of nature. Everybody has a nature and although some of our atmospheres change from environmental factors, nobody can help the way they are. Everything happens by chance, and I for one truly believe that is how we have come to exist at all. So instead of putting people down for being different, learn to appreci...
My Freedom means freedom from my mind...My mind that constantly spits out thoughts and flavors them with emotions. If not controlled, it will lock me in the prison of Fear...so my freedom starts with COURAGE...courage to overpower my mind and tell it to create thoughts of Faith, Love and Peaceful Surrender.
FREEDOM OF MY DEMON
My head hurts
The pain unbearable
The blood stains on my hand
Haunts me like a ghost
I cannot sleep
The demons inside
Are ripping my head
Like mushrooms they grow
Living upon death
My end is near
And the demon shall rise
Rise so that it shall fall someday
Like I have now failed.
Freedom-it's when i walk past the mirror without tearing into my skin. When i don't worry about how people would think of the colour of my teeth & my dress. When i have regained my full capabilities n qualifications as i m deserved. The ability to taste without fear of being punished. To be needed rather than to need,to b loved,to b unselfish,to love, spending evenings eating cakes n sugary drinks whatever i wish, getting up sunday morning with a birdsong & 2walking to the window naked. I've gained a future, with days passing without fainting & falling asleep without dread for the day ahead. To eat when i am hungry n stop when i am full. I've gained the love of my life. No longer a marionette tw...
Freedom is but a state of mind. If you think you are free, then you are. The bondage, the cage is only psychological. With conviction and belief one can break the toughest walls and overcome the biggest obstacles. All it takes to break free is the possession of determination. If one is determined, no problem can be unsolvable. The solution becomes visible on it's own. Positivity creates immense energy and a person who possesses it becomes strong enough to face every situation.
Thus, no matter how difficult the circumstances are, a belief is all it takes to be free. Believe and you are free.
When I can feel
The wind blowing
through my hair.
I am free!
When I can see
The trees sprinting away
Through the windows
of a moving car.
I am free!
When I can play
with a sweet baby
And let him hold
my little finger
with his tiny hands.
I am free!
When I can bring
a smile on a face
with teary eyes.
I am free!
When I can voice
My opinions openly
Without the fear of criticism and judgements.
I am free!
When I can choose
My area of interest
As my profession.
I am free!
When I can sleep
Without any worries
I am free!
When I can wear
The clothes of my choice
Without receiving derogatory comments.
I am free!
When I can love
hello friends ..i have written this letter of some things new to learn and enjoy in the life...please read it...
Spend a minute to read it till the end...
A cruise ship met with an accident at sea, on the ship was a pair of couple, after having made their way to th e lifeboat, they realized that there was only space for one person left.
At this moment, the man pushed the woman behind him and jumped onto the lifeboat himself.
The lady stood on the sinking ship and shouted one sentence to her husband.
The teacher stopped and asked, "What do you think she shouted?"
Most of the students excitedly answered, "I hate you! I was blind!"
Now, the teacher noticed a boy who was silent throughout...
The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
That's what the dictionary says.
In literal meaning, such is acceptable to everyone. But in specific meaning, not one person's life is like another, since that, not a single thing is the same for one person to another.
Therefore, there must be
"My freedom is.."
What does it mean to me?
I've been thinking a lot about the topic since it was first mentioned.
See the thing is, I'm not fully a pragmatic, though my views and words seems cold to some, I'm rather sentimental in my own way. But I am, however, -growing in a family that forces so- a realist. Now let's do the fact (This might be easier to relate ...
To me, freedom is being able to express yourself. Being able to be who you want, and love who you want. To not worry about the restrictions of the social norms. Freedom is what I was born with thanks to my hardworking ancestors. Though there are different interpretations. Being able to do what makes you happy and not being punished. (so long as it's not illegal, of course.) Freedom is being you! It's being your own wonderful self, not just what everyone else wants you to be.
What a beautiful thing Freedom is! And how few people can express it and live it nowadays.
When I think of lack of freedom in the world I think back many many years ago. In some other countries not as many years back. And for a large majority is still present. How very sad it makes me to actually realize that.
Freedom is everything and should be everywhere. I wish for the world to become a better place when it comes to enjoy the absolute necessity that freedom means freedom.
there is enough air to breathe
don't hold me anymore
I want to be free
let me glow
on the dawn of my profession
I will wait with my enthusia
for the day of my passion
do not dose me
with the drops of responsibilities
some feathers are yet to grow
on the wings of my abilities
Dear Desert Dancer,
Freedom is one tricky word; it is difficult to define into an actual or practical meaning.
Freedom, for some people, maybe defined as;
Some of us might already found it.
Some of us are searching for it.
It depends on different circumstances which form us to be who we are.
Though we cannot find definitions for it and there are tons of answers,
it still motivates us to step out of comfort zone and try the craziest solution.
"Freedom" is a powerful word;
it brightens our days,
it gives us hope,
it lift our hearts,
and it strengthen our souls.
We are in the darkest moment
Freedom to me means to be able to have your own rights and do anything you want without being judged.
Freedom is to choose what is good for you without being afraid of what others have to say or think of you.
Most of all, freedom is the chance to love who and how you want.
What's its like, to be free!!
For me it would be a chance to fly high into the sky of opportunities, a land full of brightness n Hope,
A life with no limitations, no boundaries,
A space of my own scheduling me from rest of the world,
Givimg a voice to my soul,
A freedom of expression,
No one to hold me back from chasing my dreams,
Being free would give me wings, Wings high enough to break free and fly away,
Free enough to dance my heart out n enjoy even if it's raining..
Securing that smile on the face of my beloved ones,
Cherishing the feeling of love, nourishing n spreading it in entire world.. so that Every human being could appreciate this beautiful emotion, and c...
What does it mean to be free?
To be me
To think freely
No rules, guidelines and laws
Only miles and miles of open space
To welcome differences
To be accepted
Clearly defining my own
Running openly to arms-open arms
Because of my freedom
That allows me to be me
Despite what "They" say
I can be me...free
Amongst miles and miles of other free people and entities
A state of mind
A state of being
Me in all capacities
Freedom is not for a race, caste or creed,
Every single being needs to be free,
We need the chance to discover what we need,
We need to float on the oceans,
Jump into the seas,
Fly in the skies,
Hike onto the mountains,
Discover each and every horizon of the beautiful earth,
That's when we shall feel free,
Though we can't do it all, we can atleast dream of it,
Let us be free at least in our minds
Let go of each and every prejudice,
Let's breathe in the open air,
Let's discover what we can,
What we can do to be free,
From the assumptions of people and be ourselves then we shall be free,
And then we shall be free...
Today freedom is a truce between what we want to do and what we can do - more like a choice.
I see that young boy, who hasn't moved past the trauma of child labor, borrows my bike for ten minutes and gulps dusty hot air in city traffic of Hyderabad, like it means the world to him and I read freedom, in the twinkling of his eyes. Freedom knows no language except that extra amount of vitality to push the door open - oh yes, the doors always open from the inside.
I see that single, woman, fatigued - who stands on her balcony with a glass of wine and wishes she wasn't alone. She looks at the sparrow on her windowsill with the fluttering curtain and writes poetry into thin air as if words...
About freedom and love
In order for love to be true it's necessary to walk hand in hand with freedom.
Love is built in our lives, day by day, it's getting to know the bright and dark parts of someone and have the possibility to leave, but a bigger urge to stay. It's to feel good in your own skin. Love is never being stuck or trapped, it's about strenght and criativity to seize that specific amount of details in someone without suffocating them. Is to be with the one that gives you that sense of belonging, but respect your own space, your dreams and cares for you dispite your flaws.
Freedom is the ability to express in the way you want, is to take the opportunity to change and make differ...
It is something we rarely appreciate. Perhaps being born into a free nation is the reason.
We rarely acknowledge the importance of this little word.
But history shows, our ancestors did. They fought for our freedom at different parts of time. They understood its importance because they never had it handed to them on a platter. They had to fight. They earned their freedom. And today... Many more people are breaking free, of the various shackles and chains that bind them.
To be free, means to have the reins of your life in your own hands. It means the denial to give in to those who try to use their puppetry techniques on people.
Freedom is the ultimate superpower.
Set her free
I look through the window
And watch the birds.
Wanna fly like them but couldn't.
I feel the touch of the wind;
Wanna grab it but couldn't
I was tired of being someone...!
Broken upon the rocks
I was lost under the surface
Smothered by others' fantasies,
Now a quest begins
to discover the soul that folded.
I wanna be alive
I wanna be the impalpable sunshine.
I wanna be a goldfinch , singing my heart out.
I wanna be the unhindered wave.
I wanna be the thirst quenching rain
I wanna be infinite
I wanna be imperfect
'I wanna be me
The unchained me'
Freedom is a relative term,
For some it is in terms of social,
For some it can be financial,
For others it could be political
Just like the the will to express ones opinion,
To speak out their hearts,
To interact openly and also to keep secrets,
To put forward their choice,
To pick what makes them rejoice.
To share things frankly,
To love wisely, to breakup suddenly,
To laugh loudly, to cry softly,
To praise highly, to whine rudely
To pray accordingly, to say liberally
To start ambitiously, to stop cautiously
are all that constitutes freedom
But for me this is not the holistic way to be free,
For me freedom is to be mental,
Rather than just being social, financial or political
So that yo...
A song of freedom for all of us...
We struggle, fight, and sometimes we give up. Each one's path is different, but the journey remains the same.
Privileged or not, life happens to all of us. Some of us are left with visible scars, some of us with just the pain.
The worst are those who can't remember anymore, who have taught themselves to forget.
How do I explain why I don't remember anything?
How do I explain that I only remember the essence of what was.
My soul remains untouched, it's mine, and only mine to feel or see.
This physical body is not my choice, my thoughts, my clothes are.
My life is a choice, not a reality show for you.
This isn't just my story, it's my dedication...
when India gained independence at the cost of partition: was that a freedom?
I have great curiosity to know about Islamic religion and more deeply about Pakistan.....this interest was more likely from childhood but it got a shape and authentication when I was in my +2 course, I still remember the pages of those history and political science subject...... those pages of NCERT books are all printed in my eyes and that bloodshed, those riots, that partition always haunts me and trust me I hadn't got any satisfactory explanation as what leads to such a painful partition of India, I still think that Pakistan is a part of India......It was..... and so does Bangladesh. we all were one then why th...
Dear Desert Dancer,
Birds who immigrate are so free they can go everywhere and see from above, If we look from above we see everything so tiny our properties on earth, sorrows, angers...everything.
so freedom is a state of mind.
dancing comes from soul, from heart
that's why when I dance I feel free.
I am caged in my body and my soul needs freedom.
I experience the real freedom when I leave my body...
Free as a Bird

One of the major themes that I saw in the movie, "Desert Dancer", was the struggle for freedom and the power freedom has.
Being an American living in the North East of the United States, I would consider myself privileged and am lucky enough to be free. Many people in the world struggle for something that many people take for granted, the ability to determine the way they want to live their lives. This movie gave me a reality check which made me appreciate the life I had. It also made me more aware of the everyday struggles faced in certain parts of the world.
I am a junior in high school and am taking a course in US history. Currently we are learning about World War II and the Cold W...
Freedom....It doesn't mean just mere independence or liberty. It means living the way you want to.Enjoying your life on your own terms. Not getting affected by people's views or opinions.Loving yourself and your work. You are eluding true freedom only when you live for yourself. Only when you think you are free to do what you wish to.It's not something physical but something that has to do with mental independence. You have to think free to feel free.Only when you succeed in accomplishing these few tasks....can you call yourself 'FREE'.
