# SKYLARK CHALLENGE
Words Used: Vortex, Dawn, Suspended, Number.
Powder puff clouds, brush dusting 'cross a dusky sky
Blood redden sun, slow lowering to a shepherd's delight
Startling panic, starlings manic, on wing swarming high
Sweeping, screeching, spiralling a vortex afore night
Spark sudden spectical, reflectible, bring bountiful boost
Determination, a murmuration, affirmation reconciled
Swooping, looping, drib dropping, swopping wing for roost
Below, lowly ruminants chew cud, while above all beguiled
Preening fine fettle, softly settle, heads tuck within wing
Snug snuggled together, feather to feather, rest all abound Quietly blended, suspended, bowed branches they bring
Words used: Paint, Navigated, Eyelashes, Vibrancy.
Fast and feverish, first. Forehead furrowed, focusing in florid folds. Vanquishing.... vibrancy of verdigris, vainglorious via viridian eyes. Paint pouring follows.... flicking, fanning, emulating elongation of exotic eyelashes. With loose liquidity, navigated by a loveless longing. Flying, flowing, float to falling. A final falter.... fluttering forward, flattening to a fluffless feather. Then finally.... around her all falls silent.
Words used: Psychiatrist, Rug, Plausible, Dreaming.
He was laying low, camouflaging himself behind the thick privet hedge, on the outskirts of the garden. He was watching the house intently. He shivered slightly, thinking back to the crime he had just committed. The owners had returned home earlier. As they had stepped over the threshold to their home, turning to hang up their coats, he had made his escape, bolting through the gap in the doorway before they'd had a chance to take in the gory scene that lay before them in the hallway. He could still hear the scream, and shivered slightly at the thought of his actions. He wished he was dreaming, but knew now, that this rea...

Shimmering through a distorted world
Gills aglow akin to fire unfurled
Glinting bulbous eyes stalked telescope
Curled twirling tail whirl gyroscope

Genetically premeditated path to birth
Fancy style fantail prominence pushed forth

Words used: Spots, Dust, Collection, Lepidopterist.
A lepidopterist is an entomologist who specialises in studying butterflies and moths. The name lepidopterist is derived from the name of the Order of butterflies and moths, Lepidoptera.
A little known passion of Sir Winston Churchill's was his concern for the diminishing numbers of British butterflies. In 1946 he planned a butterfly garden to increase the numbers of common species around his house at Chartwell, Kent. About 1,500 chrysalids were hatched each year in a summer house. Churchill would spend hours waiting for the moment when the butterflies emerged. Once on the wing he set them free.

Words used: Fragile, Keys, Pressure, Splinter.
The day he left he stowed her fragile heart
Severed splinter cutting deep as war depart
Love sang within the letters that they wrote
Love filled the gaps within the words they spoke
Each line melodies emerged to play their song
As memories long filled pages cherished on
One darkened moon the mournful letter came
The sun stayed set from when she read his name
The final music faltered slowed then froze
Mournful pressure turned the keys foreclosed
She left her heart among the peeling walls
The staircase creaked of long ago footfalls
His doting eyes from portraits espied abyss Cobwebbed beams, and cups that held his k...
Words used: Waiting, Creases, Lemon, Twisted.
He wondered if he should just go over and say hi! She had smiled at him, after all. "Why did he find it so hard, speaking to girls". He hesitated, "maybe she was already waiting for someone". A friend? Boyfriend? He held back, deciding to watch her a little longer. "Just a little", he thought. Then he'd go over and introduce himself.
She was beautiful. Her high heels, hinted at sophistication. Her hair plaited stylishly, into pretty braids. He noticed, that several times, she had nervously twisted her napkin in her lap. He imagined her painted nails leaving crescent indents in the fibres.
Taking a sip of her lemon tea, cre...
Words used: Cello, Polished, Ruby, Bow
The woodcutter chose the finest tree
Spruce that sang most musically
Sacrificed for art and passion
Polished to the finest fashion
Melodic strings and maple backed
Exquisite masterpiece to enact
Her senses swayed and blurred
Sensuality so deeply stirred
Watching as slim fingers stroke
With grace and strength bespoke
Dreams rousing hope one day
His tender touch would come her way
Had he perceived her blushing glow
Caressed the cello with his bow
Her ruby lips moved as he played
Their bodies rhythmic as they swayed
Only then she saw him smile
Words used: Chimney, Uncertainty, Logs, Horse.
The iron horse, is galloping fast
Heavy with smog and gleaming with brass
'cross sleepers, deep set with parallel tracks
Resounding a chorus of clickety-clacks
Hastily hauling with harnessed horsepower
Stoking up swiftly, steaming miles per the hour
Huff-puffing up, through chimney charred
Bellowing bellows, and blowing clouds hard
Past meadows of cows, horses and sheep
The dragon rolls bountiful, up through the deep
Uncertainty raises their heads from their grazing
As funnels burn tunnels, with fire all ablazing
A marriage of carriages, haul up through the woods
Steam boils through the pistons, as laden with goods
Skylark Challenge: Emerald, Tunnel, Age, Lines.
An extravagance of age and ardour
Parading peacock, plumage pulsing
An effervescence of emerald eyes
Lines shimmer, to a liquescent love dance
Verdigris and viridian, heralds virility
Fold and curl, to a tunnel of teal and turquoise
Irreverent in his iridescence
A moonlit walk along the South Downs Way.
A poem......... including the words of Rebecca and myself. Thank you Sweetie 😊😘 xx
On the rise to Bignar Hill, accompanied by starlight.
Stands a mare, moonlight catching silver flecks, across her dappled coat.
Walking under goose wings, through mud and briar.
That harbour fox and owl, and tenant crows.
A chalky path, petering out through petticoats of mist.
A top the hill, as if climbing towards the stars.
Swans synchronise their descent, to rest upon the lake below.
Natural navigation via Venus and Mars.
Seen through Cirrus clouds, shrouding the sky in fine lace.
Whilst far below, mankind is blinded to their beauty, by the illumination of ...

Words used: Dignified, Jasmine, Button, Twisted.
She felt him standing beside her. She knew he was as proud as any Father could ever be. Dressed in his finest, dignified, with shoulders straight and head held high. He had waited so long, to see his little girl become a bride.
She nervously twisted a lock of hair around her finger. Something she had done, since she was little. She straightened his button hole - a frosted pink rose, cupped with delicate sprigs of Jasmine. He had named her after the flower, and now the heady scent bought back so many wonderful memories.
"Are you ready?" The voice jolted her back to reality. Pachelbel's Canon in D major, began to play. S...
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE ON LETTRS
MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE......
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro' the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse'.
Words used: Violin, Honey, Leather, Cobalt.
I hear the violin
Perpetual, an octave out
Heart thickened to leather
Once soft with innocence
A spirit that flowed as honey
Now hardened and brittle
Chilled to cobalt blue
Life is like a see-saw ride, full of ups and downs........
But when you are down a good friend will jump on the other seat to bring you back up again...!
She ran up the steps, and pushed hard on the double doors. She was breathing a little too fast for comfort, and felt suddenly aware that her abrupt entrance had been noticed by everyone. The heads of several seated people, had turned towards her. She tried to compose herself, now not sure whether to act on her first compulsion, to turn around and make a quick exit. Instead she straightened her coat, feeling aware that she was perhaps showing a little too much leg. She ran her hand over her hair, trying to tuck the stray ends behind her ear. She felt flushed, her breath catching in her throat. She made her way to the main desk,...
