Have a lovely penultimate month of the year lettrists!
insubstantial chilly fingers slide down my spine, across my throat, making me flail in panicked disorientation.
I hate walking into spider webs
The pungent odour of cured flesh is almost irresistible.
My mouth is watering.
I simply must have some of this prawn pickle!
The memory of her smile,
Beguilingly beautiful, disguising venom;
Made dappled shadows in the sunshine of his memories
Because it combines the old world of charm of hand written letters and the innovative zing of technology.
Because it helps you discover like minded souls across the globe.
Because the administrative staff nourishes your inner writer by presenting challenges regularly over a veritable treasure trove of topics.
Because Lettrs is like a warm, comforting family where everyone gets you.
That's why I'd recommend Lettrs to all the people who wish to voice themselves through the written word.
PS- Something I've neglected saying so far, but should have done so the second I joined this platform- THANKS LETTRS!
When being with someone makes you realize why you're here on this earth, why you witness a sunrise follow a dark night.
When you know that you were meant to live this life just so that that special someone could share it with you.
That's the person you hold on to and never let go
MY STORY OF FUNNY PICKUP LINES
For the uninitiated,
There is an app called "Trivia Crack" which is a really fun game that you can play with friends or random strangers where you answer questions related to six categories; Entertainment, Art, Sports, History, Science and Geography.
There is also a feature where users can send private messages to one another.
The number of times guys have tried to hit on me via Trivia Crack is hilarious. If I had a penny for every time a cocky guy with bumbling linguistic skills and swagger taller than Mt. Everest tried to hit on me, I'd be a millionaire!
One guy was so affronted that I kept winning, he accused me of looking nothing like a geek! He insisted ...
The skies blaze.
The clouds rage.
The heavens weep.
Miles apart, both hear the same celestial lament.
It's almost as if the rain bemoans our separation.
You said that we are all dust and ashes. Reduced to nothing, burnt and useless.
But then why did you always appear like the gold dust to me?
Bright and shining?
My countrymen sadden me.
Election tactic or no, a mob lynching a man to death purely on the suspicion that he had beef in his fridge is a barbaric, brutal, inhumane thing to do.
It's not like they were rapists or murders or were guilty of even tax evasion! Mohhamad Akhlaq was just a poor farm worker.
I don't understand why people can't learn to be more tolerant. This poor man was not forcing his food down anyone's throat (unlike some MNS workers who chose to demonstrate their ire against the meat ban by cooking chicken outside a Jain community hall)
And the horrific thing about mob mentality is that no one stops to think and reason if what they're about to do. The phrase "khoon khaulna" is...
Have a happy, productive and blessed October all!
To the greatest woman in my life,
I owe my very existence to you
Often while growing up, I used to think you weren't fond of me.
You refused point blank to do even one extra thing more than necessary for me; but that taught me self reliance in the long run.
Your reluctance for hugs and long conversation made me realize that sometimes its OK to be anti social and one's own company isn't the worst thing in the world.
You taught me that books and animals are the best friends a person can ever make. Those realizations have shaped my life's course up until now and will forever do so.
Sometimes you are harsh but its necessary to keep me on the straight and narrow. And sometimes you are so ridicul...
