# WHY ?
The question there is seldom an answer for......
Isn't Life as such, so many questions...?
# Writing Prompt
What is it about Forgiveness that makes us all want it ?
And what is it about the same forgiveness that makes us so miserly in giving it ?
Why Forgiveness ?
If we are clear about what we want and that too in a principled kind of way; Would we do something we shouldn't or musn't.... Which makes us seek forgiveness in the first place ?
For we ALL, ALL... without fail, know heart of hearts, that we have done something we should not have.
The rest is just about justifications and justifying the "rightness" of that act, step, action or decision..
Well... moving on, why then are we so stingy in giving what we ourselves want so desperately..?
Incidentally the w...

The Bamboo to me has always signified the permanence of life sautèd with rigorous doggedness to survive..
The mighty Oak has always thudded to the earth. At some time or the other.
When did anyone hear such news of the Bamboo..?
Unlikely. And even if there was a whisper... It is likely that is was no more than a rustle... in the forest..
The grass gets trampled upon due to its position and supplication.
Not so the Bamboo.
'Cause it is a Tree as much a shrub, It is a plant as much as it is a tall.
It is rigid enough to bend with the storm and return post it..
It grows from the roots akin the grass, yet because of its stature it cannot be trampled upon..
Isn't it stature...
Addendum to Parents..
We owe a lot of gratitude to our parents.. for their love, undèrstanding, support, contributions and much much more....
For had it been for them would be able to..
Breathe, see, speak, hear, smell, feel, sense, emote, love, hate too, understand, learn, listen, seek, infer, apply, imply, relate,
acquire relations, friends, friendship, Grandparents , Uncles, Aunts, cousins, brother, sister, son, daughter, and the rest..
Speak.. language, languages, grammar, phrase & paraphrase, compose, truth, not untruths, whisper, shout,
Show... feelings, sense, joy, understanding, happiness, sadness too, like, dislike, swagger, stumble, jump, crawl, walk, run, sit & Sleep to...
© Parents are God's gift to us for being born to them...
As a Rule.
Some folks may have a different take.. But how many are exceptions to the rule ?
Now while nobody including Parents lay any claim to being perfect, and None are..
In fact, NO ONE is..
And though everyone does something or takes some decision thinking that THAT is in everyone's interests.. or at least their childrens... and though the rightness and correctness is in all probability a matter of perspective..
And though each generation finds their Parents to be from an ooolldd generation and that the gap is tooooo large to bridge and that THEY will neverrrrr understand our issues and problems...
Fully knowing that what Par...

If I Tell You I Love You
If the day does come that I do tell you I love you, then..
1. Believe it.
2. Never Doubt it.
3. Nothing else should matter.
For I say what I mean
And I mean what I say.
To be able to verbalize such a powerful and powerladen statement which has volumes of meaning loaded within it, cannot be made..
I hail from a time where a Man was His Word.. And His Word was all that mattered.
Word was Faith.
Word was Belief.
Word was Honour.
Word was Revered.
Word was Irreversible.
I am, so I do.
I Love You.
Whether you do me,
is not the question..
It never was.
# I DARE YOU (IDY)
The tug at the centre of the chest was more surprising than the heavy calibre bullet that had endeared itself to my heart in trying to get as close as its dispatcher had intended.. many moons ago.
This was also more surprising and strangely made me feel more inadequate than I had ever felt in my life, which in itself has been quite a count..
And surprisingly the cause for my chemical imbalance was a woman. More a Lady..but no less a woman.
The chance "encounter" in, of all places a friend's party constituted an introduction to a 'girl' who was introduced as a friend.

The ability to dare is an act associated with the spirit of adventure.. The ability to step out of ones comfort zone.
The ability to accept ones shortcomings, failings, and inadequacies and still want to be there, in the middle of nowhere.. where the comfort zone of habit and rote ends..
The sheer confidence in one's own abilities and the eagerness to face the unknown, is what probably keeps an individual interested in the act of wanting to undertake The Dare....
Wanna Dare ...?
Is what a friend asked me,
Was it my friends confidence in me or my friends confidence in my abilities to redeem myself..?
Scary... No ?

The Senses and Discrimination..
This is a followup to a mention by another great view expressed by Kay, that if the world were blind would not be all of us be more accepting...?
My tuppence worth...
" It would definitely make all of us more accepting and acceptable..
Because the eyes have always been the biggest discriminator followed by the ears and then the mouth...
Because the discrimination starts first when we see..
Then only when we hear what hath been said... So the ears take 'seniority' over the mouth.
When have we ever seen the blind being judgemental ?
They even are generally not critical and definitely not cynical..
They cannot afford to be. They haven't learnt that quality.....
LOVE WON'T LET ME WAIT.
Love won't let me wait from joining the Forces, because sometimes the love for a greater cause cannot be seconded to a more personal one..
How can I keep the requirements of the Nation pending for a smaller cause like my own ease, love and comfort..
Had it not been the wise old Chetwode who immortalised the quote for posterity and generations of Leaders and Officers, that....and I quote..
" The safety, honour & welfare of the country comes first always & everytime..
The honour, welfare & comfort of the men you command comes next, always & everytime..
Your own ease, comfort & safety comes last, always & everytime...!!"

What is the kind of person who makes a statement like the ibid ?

Someone made a mention about why friendship plays an important role in our lives....
A friend made a mention that..
"The only concern is that these days even friends are virtual 😊 when I die and there is no Facebook update or WhatsApp message then there will be no one to take the body for last rituals !!"
My take is that,
Everyone needs atleast one friend within arms reach ..
For the good times.. everyday in fact or the end..
Lucky and fortunate are those who have succeeded..!!
Though everything is transitory,
True Friendship is a constant,
like God , Quiet and Peace..
We just need to find them,
Go find.. 🙏
गुरुनानकदेव जी द्वारा श्री जगन्नाथ मंदिर, पुरी में गाई गयी अद्भुत आरती”
Once the famous Indian actor Balraj Sahni asked the late Nobel Laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore, "You have written the national anthem for India . Can you write an international anthem for the whole world? "
"It has already been written, not only international but for the entire universe, in the 16th century by Nanak", replied Tagore.
He referred to the Sikh arti (ceremony of light).
Gurudev Tagore was so enamoured of this arti that he personally translated it into Bengali.
As legend has it, in 1508 A.D.
Guru Nanak Dev visited the famous temple of Jagannath at Puri in Orrisa, which was very well known for its arti f...
Someone made a mention about how we sit in our little world's and look over the horizon..
So my thoughts for Ur penny..

That's the beauty enhanced by the visions and foresight of

And their co-authors...
And then artists and amateurs of all hues and backgrounds fill in the blanks or spaces with their colours, thoughts, opinions, art and brush strokes..
Those envisioned sights become a reality when their authors or inventors starts leaving their brush or nib marks on the screens at the end of their noses..

Stroke on boldly,
Write on intelligently...!!
The Romantic 1950s and 60s...
Yes the 50s & 60S were the most romantic of ages in the recent past..,
when life was simple and much less convoluted,
less of gadgetery and more about relationships and values,
when it was more about outdoors & less of couch, potato & keyboards,
when it was more about family and love and less about individuals and likes,
when gay and rainbows were just that and not insinuations,
when blue was for boys and pink for girls,
when boys wore shorts, men trousers and girls wore skirts and women that and dresses,
when a drink was to be social and not to get drunk,
though the minority did push the tipple,
when black and white was in and colour a...
Someone made a mention of Connections....
The ultimate connection is aligning the head, heart and intentions with The Force field called God..
The moment you align with anything, you establish a connect with the other part and that connect is called a connection..

Today 18 Nov is Rezang La day
This is the epic battle of Rezang la. As a child I had heard the story many times. The epic battle of Rezang La. The name had a zing to it. Rezang La. A battle fought at an altitude of 18,000 feet in Ladakh.
120 soldiers of the Indian army against 5,000 soldiers of the Chinese army. The Chinese also had Artillery support. The 120 soldiers of 13th battalion of Kumaon Regt had no artillery support.
Rezang la is the story of unparalleled valour, raw courage and victory buried in the overall humiliation of the crushing defeat in 1962.
The story always brought tears in the eyes but filled the heart with immense pride. The date is still etched in my min...

The ideal bipartisanship is when all steps are taken involving the bipartisan

Can we ?
Is it really possible ?
Think about it..
Can any issue meet all parameters of bipartisanship of the heart and mind ?
Is this Utopia ?
Does Utopia exist ?
Or then does it only conform to an intangible space between the heart and mind..?
Bipartisan here too..?
Does bipartisan Utopia and Reality exist too or either..?

Dear Lettrs Staff..
Hi guys are doing a fantabulous job..
Staying ahead and being pro-active requires all of You to be on your toes..
And you're doing it with easy aplomb ...
Kudos to all of You and keep us motivated to continue spilling ink on paper.. in our own orbits and fashions..
And THANK YOU so much for the Diwali addition...
Playing Hide & Seek..
"Will You shine enough for me to able to liquidate quietly..?" whispered the Silver Cloud to the Golden Sun..

Actually getting to spend a little time with oneself, is medicinal,
Hence to value time spent with oneself, is essential. Truly.
Am a little circumspect about the term Penpal.
What is the mandate of a Penpal ??
Why not a Friend ? In the real sense ..??
I have temporarily just accepted this term called penpal, actually wonder what it actually means..
Don't identify with the term directly though..
Friend is more direct and probably meaningful,
Older folks and children are two sides of the same coin..
They ask questions and look at life with honesty and simplicity..
So Ur good, if on that address...
Six things we traditionally do during Diwali, which if we do with understanding would make our Diwali spiritual and meaningful :-
1. Cleaning of house - Let us also clean our mind of all the accumulated dirt of kama, krodha, moha, mada, matsarya, and lobha
2. We buy/ bring in new things - let us acquire true knowledge
3. We eat sweets - let us share and sweeten other lives, particularly of the down trodden
4. We light lamps- let us light lamp of knowledge and spread it.
5. We do Laxmi Puja - let us pray for furtherance of our spiritual wealth.
6. We burst crackers - let us burst our ego - noise less. but peace descends..
Wishing one and all a very Happy & Prosperous Diwali..!!
May the festival of lights bring joy, peace, contentment and succor to you all and your families...
And do try giving a ray or little "Diya" of light and hope to the less fortunate..
It will give You a special tingle when You see a smile and gratitude brought about by genuine care and love...
All things genuine, especially the genuine smile has a different glow and radiance..
Happy Deepavali once again..
