In addition to letters I also am enamored with maps. I've been reading a great book about maps called "On the Map" by Simon Garfield ... yes, my first reaction also was "Simon and Garfunkel?"!
Mr. Garfield has written a fun, easy and fascinating book about maps, starting with the earliest known maps ... think Ptolemy, but don't pronounce the 'P' ... and proceeding to the present, but in fits and starts. If a story about an ancient map extends into the present, he finishes that story before starting a new chapter ... nicely done, Mr. Garfield.
