“Citizens verse Nations”
    ~African continent~

I cried for you once
I waste my precious tears no more
My heart was shattered once
Then I stopped caring
Its hidden behind the walls of my selfishness
How could I continue to love a place
That has given me so little.
~>
“So little— my citizens give
My natives rewards the greedy and rebuke the needy
I fill their bellies and receive their shits
I grace their necks and lavish their wrists
I gave them lands but they chase quid
Lack of knowledge, integrity is the new sport”.

have been built and filled with medicines.
The nurses are motivated and we need not Cuban doctors.

"Mother"

At my grand entry into a world I only knew it's food
Confused as I mixed crying and talking
A voice continually shhh...
Calmly calling me "my baby"
It was mama
In her eyes was this fierce joy that calms the storm forgoing the pains that constantly interjected
"You are my world" the statement she guards with honour.

As I grow
In a world with a brand insurgent
I promote nothing but shame
The tears I attribute to her and the constant knee prayers at dawn just to intercede
Mama never neglects
Her tears, a blessing
it rebukes me in choosing right
And a reminder not to let those tears dry
Mama I will wipe your tears.

               “Known”

-little did she
know...
I built a world
And
She is the pillar
That holds it.

-little did she
See...
In her eyes
I witnessed the scanty
Scattered twinkling stars
Piecing through the nights
Begging for appreciation.

-if my world is
Seen
-if my world is
Known

She would have lived
In a world of her own
Commanding and summoning
A goddess
Creating desires
And aspirations.

-little did she
Hear...
I whispered the melodies
Of love
But she heard otherwise.

-If my heart is
Seen
-If my thoughts are
Shown
My intention would lay bare.

               “GOODBYE"

Bae I broke your heart and am sorry
I seriously gave it a thought. I realised I shouldn't have.
We know ourselves too well to let go of our beautiful future.

—darling wait

There you go again, the selfish you speaking. making garden in forests
Talking of plantations when all you have is a backyard
You puffed when saying we know ourselves
If I may ask, which I will ask anyway how well do you know me?
Yes you know my name you know my family but the ungrateful you forgot to learn my personality so sit in my class let me school you

First I am the best of the best yet your parallel mind rated me worse. Selfishness and pride. Would you like me to explain; I am the ...

                      Single

Love sits on the traveling seat of definitions
In each generation its stop is made and onboard sits other definitions waiting to alight at the next generational bus stop
Our present generation harbours "overrated".

I sit on this rooftops waiting for a soul who wouldn't complain about the weather
A soul who wouldn't question my kindness and deface my soul
A soul who will admire my smiles and see my pain
A soul who will see me ahead of technology and papers
A soul who equally sits on the ledge of the quarters of our generation.

I might be seeking the unseekable
Single I am
A stranger in the present days
A legend of old love.

           "Confessions"

I am cheating
Cheating on souls
I've unleash the character
An untamed being
Captured and tamely prison
Years back.

The devil in me
Devouring souls
preying on minds
And a fluke on emotions
Draining the hopes out of them
creating reoccurring loops of smirks
Making flukes seem like blessings.

With a spark of grace in their eyes
I lay them in my bed
Expose my cowardice
But love blindfolds
As I satisfy my lust.

I am tired
You are miffed
Please!! grant me absolution
I want to find relevance to
I love you... again

                "My vicinity"

I live in a developing town
Mere but huge
A town of newly built houses
Trying to find it roots
To be called home
Walls erected high
And metals electrified
walk pass a house twice
Then you become their suspect
The one they would love to question

The life we live now
Bridges are burnt
Walls are higher
And the dining tables are becoming smaller

In a storey building
My bed rest
Where my today calls home
But!
I can only admire
what's above
Because what's
underneath
Judges my glance
A town where my hi!
Is responded by
What do you want?

The life we live now
Bridges are burnt
Walls are higher
And the dining tables are becoming smaller

             BEFORE THIS...
Before they turned us against them
We were kids that owned an unadulterated smile and an unstained Being.

Before this we were kids
Faultless and unquestioned
Our smiles melted ice
And our tears quenched fire.

Before this we were kids
Loved and cared for
Our character unstained
And our thoughts were that of pleasant tomorrows.

Before this...
We were humans
That saw the good in others.

Before this...

          SYRIAN CHILDREN

Crime has no face
It lives in no country
It wears no political colour
It is not religion
It has no colour
And it cares not for humanity
If you care know these.

The greed of men wields power to guns and feels not the power in their voices
The anger in hearts sees no light and never welcomes sunrise
The hiding places are fortresses to the evil minds
The ones who seeks vengeance in this life and questions not the grounds they stand
The escape roots— let us fill the loopholes the gods created
Hide behind religion and control the weakest of minds.

The wars of the old are tomorrows of forlorn hopes for the kids
The kings of tomorrows becomes the slaves of today...

                   “FREE”

I want to be free;
Free like the eagle.
Soar the skies up up above
At my own pace with strong wings.
...
I want to be free;
Free like the housefly.
Fly in all directions and angles with a teaser, following all my movements
Teasingly and irritatingly hovering around other beings.
...
I want to be free ;
Free like the air.
Penetrating and circulating through and in the tiniest of holes,
Even in my pernicious state I circulate freely.
...
I want to be free;
Free like time.
Ticking and creating lasting moments and memories.
Laughing about jokes made in my name.
Time and tide waits for none.
...
I want to be free;
Free like an erection.

                 “Baby”

My world in simple sentence
Why won't I cry!
Why won't I smile! or yet even laugh.
Do I know the meaning of them all.
Who cares to find.
Ignore; misery will visit.
My thoughts and actions are captured and expressed.
I am uneasily determined,
But precisely defined.
I am a baby!
I cry, I sleep.
I wake, I cry.
I am clinically adored and generally  cherished.
Tactically and emotionally  nurtured into adulthood.
A shaky start my lifetime becomes a crime society hunt always.

“FADE”

Fade! faded!!
That beauty in places,
Our favourite spot.
Found the mystery behind memories,
They can never be lived but made.
On the greater tide of memory and I sure see myself making a surfing record.
You have engulfed me and all I can do is cry.
These thoughts, these promises we shared stricken me. It's lightening!.
The light of the days broadcast our shadows while the darkness waited patiently.
I guess no convincing is needed.
I know to you I'm the fool.
I am never a need just a want.
In our spot, there is no our.
Dust in the hands of the wind,
Tell me my fate
Fade! fade!! faded!!!
There goes the love we once shared,
Now on the wailing wheels of memory.

“Time flies”

You see how time flies
We were two
Chasing after the chickens
And puppies
Creating armies
From toy soldiers
Shooting our way through
Fighting off our imaginary villains
Who tormented us in darkness

In our lonely moment
That's how parents defined it
We were four
Chasing the sun tirelessly
We had less breathe to witness
The moon
And the dwindling beauty
Darkness bestowed on the sun
See how time flies

We were six
They were seven eight
Probably eleven
But they categorised us
As age mates
Chasing the ball with my skilful feet
While you cheered
Because you loved being with the girls
Giving me two recognitions
You owned the ball
And my crush was in your circle
I...

LIVING NOW...

I held onto the worries,
The unbalancing thoughts,
Those that drove knives through my flesh
Exposing my bones.
My days ahead has been correction fluid ruling out my days before and those after.

I am dancing to the thoughts in my head now,
Knowing what lies ahead is inevitable
And the past is out of reach.
Moments can only be created in nows, and nostalgias are nows lived to be craved again.
Create the best moves,
Make the best spins,
Laugh uncontrollably.
Tomorrows will deal with itself
And yesterdays will be smiles and reminisces
If now is lived.
Welcome to the dance floor.

IN TIME.

I lived with the memories,
mementos I kept.
I never forgot our days,
The moments that sought time.
The ones that made home in each others arms.
The ones that kept the playlist on repeat.
The ones that woke pledges.
These are the ones
I’m crying for now.

Your skies weren’t always blissful.
The stars don’t always visit,
The storms were huge,
And the clouds were dark.
All you asked was time.
Time for the clouds to clear,
Time for the storm to calm.
Impatient- my days were quick to see,
And my night were slow to sleep.
The bliss at the other end, made me too wise too see, and too naive to accept.

In time your skies cleared.
In time I grew!
I grew correcting my wrongs,
I grew seeing ...

Cliches

I’ve watched you dictate the pace.
I’ve watched you glamour in my flaws.
Your high stories found it’s grounds on my lows.
Your lows never existed because my highs were yours.
You walked away with my pillow,
Shredding my dreams into smithereens.
This heart has been torn,
This mind has been tortured,
Leaving the being tattered.

I wrote a million words,
And they all decorated the tears that fell in your name, but today I closed my dam.
The son of the sun cries not water but fire
For tomorrows on earth are beautiful and my magma needs not striking.
Those cliches of hate are filled with love.

The sand at the beach was a delight,
The waves washed the dirts off our feet
Into the oceans, ...

“Unfair womb”

The mightiest and strong.
The wealthiest and pampered.
The noblest and royal.
Yet trench upon
The poorest and weak.
The sickest and needy.
The hungriest and slim.

In this treacherous world
The pain of another,
Deepens the smiles of others.
To whom the sun burns,
Shields another from it flames.
Their sweats washes and sparkles
The treasures for another.
Tell the world how unfair it’s womb is.

Love in war

Something so unnatural.
On the territories of the enemy.
I am groomed to hate,
To see the negativity and prey on flaws,
And you...bride to deceive,
Twist and coil into hearts.
A camouflage we wore.

Behind enemy lines.
In this place where
Hope lies waste
And dreams linger.
Your kindness made me forget
The pain that surrounded me.

Her flaws are flawless,
And my heart was hers.
Our days lived in fear and impenitent.
Love uncloaked us.

With tempers flaring
And fears growing,
We found love in a place
Least expected.
You held my hand
And helped me stay human
When I was filled with rage towards the enemy.
You taught me to show mercy.

As the bullet flew and the bomb lit.

Contritions

They don’t come in play,
I am reminded of that,
But in my reveries they feature.
They direct me in choosing right

I regret
The chances I never took.
The people I didn’t appreciate.
The ones that loved and treasured my soul.
Those that needed a smile or a wink,
But I looked away and frowned.
The people I needed to let go,
Those that wanted to fly
But I held onto their wings,
The opportunities that slipped.
The ones I let fear imprisoned.
Those times that I had to stand out,
Be the wolf but felt comfortable in sheeps clothing.
The time silence knocked,
But I chose to let in words.

They seemed right.
I was a kid.
My actions likened the child,

Lonely guy"

Life of a lonely guy
I sit in pictures
Moments created in thoughts
With glamorous dinner dates
Extravagant shopping spree
Extravaganza! Our dance in style
Under the moonlight
A watch of sunrise chasing the beauties of sunset
A walk on the pavements
holding hands with smiles and giggles to meaningless conversations
I love you said in a voice so proud and truthful making black chin glow
My babies, our babies
Angels made on earth
First and eight names of uniqueness
Adorned and adored
My thoughts taking me in to worlds my legs dares not step
voice too mute to speak
I will dream on

Encapsulation

You are the moon and it’s lonely but yet fulfilling.
There are some that will
Love you the more when they are down, but will move once
They are up on their feet.
Others will be there
In all lives trajectories.
They will help you soar
And will be there on your landing.
They are your stars
You need them both
One -to have a feel
Of the magic of life
And the other—-who knows
Life’s magic lives within you.
You are not naive!.

With you, I’ve seen flowers fly and birds walk.
I’ve seen the skies grow weeds, and the earth cry crystal icebergs

With you, I sleep with the stars and rest my neck on the moon. Darkness ain’t dark because you illuminate.

With you, I walk the oceans and swim the lands.
The trees ain’t stationed, and animals don’t travel.

With you, my thoughts questions nothing and my eyes sees nothing. The beds are welcoming and offices are demanding.

With you, the nights holds my eyes and share my smirks.
The day coils me in its arms and tickles me into laughter.

With you, perpetuity feels like second and a day creates memories which lives in moments.

Dads vows
I painted a picture
I was all young
Been to all that nice places
In all that nice clothes
The sneakers and the shoes
That was the life
I was young
See the parties were loud
The drinks were chilled
And the girls they glowed in the night

See my father
Worked the work
Brought me up like a king
With a story he told
I walked miles to get education
In cloths they will call rags
But I live with them now
No childhood to miss
No friends to talk about
I lived grown when I was suppose to be a kid
I vowed and I sticked to my vow
Not to be a childhood stealer

Shades of melanin

And I wouldn’t just call them queens
They sit in high places
Thrones in the core of hearts

And I wouldn’t just call them flowers
They decorate
Lighting up eyes with colours
And noses with fragrance

And I wouldn’t just call them women
They nurture royalty out of ordinary
Creating kings to govern

Shades of melanin
Black in hues
Beauties in black reigns
Queens of the night skies
The appellations of majesties meets the drums
The queens are adorned
Songs are sung in their name
Oo!! black is beautiful
