The small girl followed the path of stones that gleamed in the moon lit night, milky white pebbles kissed smooth by a million drops of water. They were the glowing remenents of an ancient monsoon called moon gems, and they left the girl mesmerized and blindly following their lead.
The girl had followed this luminous pearly path from the garden behind her grandmother's cottage. It lead her to the beach where the shining stones were scattered like confetti around her bare feet.
She looked around in dismay. If this were the end of the path, it was an anticlimactic closing to what had begun with the promise of a grand adventure. The chill sea wind, ripe with the scent of seaweed and fish, sw...

DOES LETTRS PAY YOU?
A friend asked me why I'm always plugging Lettrs. He wondered if they paid me to do so. My answer was, "Yes. Lettrs pays me."
They pay me with a CEO and staff who work hard and provide a friendly, supportive, and personal presence. They pay me by giving me a place to be truly creative and share my voice & vision. I am paid by the insanely creative, beautiful, heartfelt, emotional, hilarious Lettrs that all of you share.
I want Lettrs to last. This is a unique place. There is nowhere else like it in a social media world that can often be hollow, mean, and lonely.
So, yeah. I'm paid. The very least I can do is help spread the word about this beautiful community. I kn...
I eat your words
Like grapes from the vine
Ripe with juice
Skin split with sweet dew
One by one I taste them
Until I give in and
Grab them in a bunch
Engulfing your words
Like some great beast
Who cannot be filled
When my mouth is purple
My fingers numb
I am finally filled
Sleepy and dreaming
Satiated for the moment
But still eyeing that
"You doused my flames of determination by flooding me with your love.
Yet you forgot to reignite it when you left away."
Crossroads - a song by Toni Crane
It wasn't my turn at bat
So when you called I returned
To the life of a single mother
To the day off I had earned
Told myself it was someone else's turn
I ignored the nagging doubts
That threatened my peace of mind
And refused to ignore the shouts
/Every crossroad is a choice
Every choice turns the page
To tell a different story
To earn another wage
The toll may be pricey
But come what may
Every path you choose has a price to pay/
So many times this had happened
And I dropped everything for you
Only to arrive and realize
There were others to pull you through
So on this day I made nuggets
Watched Sesame Street with my son
And focused on being a mom
Nourish well your soul
Beauty will fly forth to shine
Your light bright within
